The Spanish Society for Natual Language Processing (SEPLN) organizes a Doctoral Symposium within the SEPLN 2015 conference. It will provide doctoral students investigating topics in natural language processing with a unique opportunity to have interaction with other researchers and receive feedback regarding their proposed research.

We invite doctoral students to submit short papers (6 pages) describing his/her thesis proposal. The paper should be authored only by the student and its format should follow the SEPLN guidelines.  The submitted paper will be the basis for detailed discussions at the Doctoral Symposium. To get the most out of the discussion, the paper should include:

• Motivation for the proposed research.
• Background and related work (including key references).
• Description of proposed research, including main research questions.
• Research methodology and proposed experiments (where appropriate).
• Specific research issues for discussion at the Doctoral Symposium.

Selection of contributions

Papers for the Doctoral Symposium will be selected based on their quality and the potential of their research for future impact on the field of natural language processing.  The selected papers will not be published in the second issue of the journal "Procesamiento de Lenguaje Natural". Instead, they will be published in the electronic version of the conference proceedings. Therefore, doctoral students who submit a paper to the Doctoral Symposium are permitted and encouraged to submit an extended version of their research for the plenary conference.
