SOLICITUD DE PROPUESTAS PARA EL SIMPOSIO DOCTORAL EN PROCESAMIENTO DEL LENGUAJE NATURAL DE LA RED PLN.NET en el marco del XXXVIII Congreso Internacional de la Sociedad Española para el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural

INTRODUCCIÓN Y ENVÍO DE TRABAJOS

La red temática PLN.NET organiza el Simposio Doctoral en Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural que se celebrará de manera presencial en el marco del XXXVIII Congreso Internacional de la Sociedad Española para el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural (SEPLN 2022). La fecha no está confirmada aún, pero será entre el 21 y el 23 de septiembre.

El Simposio Doctoral pretende ser un punto de encuentro donde investigadores en formación en el área del Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural puedan presentar su trabajo. Los estudiantes recibirán comentarios constructivos y orientación por parte de investigadores con experiencia en su área de trabajo.

El equipo organizador invita al alumnado que esté cursando estudios de doctorado en el área de la Lingüística Computacional y el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural a que presenten trabajos breves (5-9 páginas), escritos en inglés, donde se describan sus proyectos de tesis. Los envíos se realizarán utilizando el siguiente formulario de Google Form.

El artículo presentado supondrá un punto de partida y será objeto de debate durante el Simposio. Para ello, el documento debe incluir, entre otros, los siguientes apartados:

• Justificación de la investigación propuesta;
• Origen y trabajo relacionado (incluyendo referencias de importancia);
• Descripción de la investigación propuesta, incluyendo las hipótesis principales;
• Metodología y experimentos propuestos (si fuera necesario);
• Elementos de investigación específicos propuestos para discusión;
• Bibliografía.

Los trabajos para el Simposio Doctoral serán revisados por un panel de expertos y se seleccionarán de acuerdo con su calidad e impacto potencial para la investigación futura en el área del Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural. Las propuestas seleccionadas se incluirán en una versión electrónica de las actas del Simposio que se presentará a CEUR Workshop Proceedings para su publicación.

 La red PLN.NET (RED2018-102418-T) concederá becas para financiar el desplazamiento, alojamiento e inscripción de los participantes en este simposio de doctorado. Dependiendo del número de doctorandos que asistan se cubrirán parcial o totalmente los gastos. Esto se determinará una vez que finalice el plazo de entrega de trabajos. Se intentará pagar la inscripción, el viaje (sin superar 200 euros y siempre bajo justificación de billetes de autobús, tren, avión o, en caso de desplazamiento en coche, ticket de gasolina, y se pagará a 0,19€ por km calculando desde la ciudad de origen hasta A Coruña), una noche de alojamiento y una bolsa de un día (en caso de que en la inscripción del congreso no estén incluidas las comidas). 

INSTRUCCIONES PARA LOS AUTORES

• Los trabajos deben ir firmados por una sola persona (candidata o candidato predoctoral) y deben ajustarse al formato de CEUR. Para ello, se deberá utilizar la plantilla de CEUR en formato LaTeX o Word o la plantilla proporcionada a través de Overleaf (formato 1 columna).
• Los artículos tendrán una longitud entre 5 y 9 páginas (incluidas referencias) y se escribirán en inglés.
• El nombre de la conferencia deberá ser sustituido por: \conference{Doctoral Symposium on Natural Language Processing from the PLN.net network 2022 (RED2018-102418-T), 21-23 September 2022, A Coruña, Spain.}
• El nombre del autor estará formado por el nombre completo (sin iniciales), ej. “María Pérez” en lugar de “M. Pérez”.
• El título se escribirá usando la notación mayúsculas enfatizadas, ej."Filling an Author Agreement by Autocompletion" en lugar de "Filling an author agreement by autocompletion".
• Los autores deben completar y firmar a mano este acuerdo, el cual se enviará junto al artículo a través del siguiente formulario.

SUBMISSION  AND SELECTION OF CONTRIBUTIONS

The PLN.NET network organizes the Doctoral Symposium on Natural Language Processing that will be held as part of the XXXVIII International Conference of the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing. The date has not yet been confirmed, but it will take place between September 21 and 23.

The Doctoral Symposium intends to provide a venue for student researchers in Natural Language Processing to present their work. Students will receive constructive feedback and guidance from researchers with experience in their area of work.

All PhD students are invited to submit short papers (5-9 pages) written in English, describing their thesis project. The submissions will be made through the following Google Form.

The paper submitted will be a starting point and will be the subject of discussion during the Symposium. To this end, the paper should include, among others, the following sections:

• Reason for the proposed research;
• Background and related work (including important references);
• Description of the proposed research, including the main hypotheses for research;
• Methodology and the proposed experiments (if necessary);
• Specific issues of research to be discussed;
• References.

Papers for the Doctoral Symposium will be reviewed by a specific Committee Program and they will be selected according to their quality and potential impact on future research within the field of Natural Language Processing. The selected works will be included in an electronic version of the Symposium proceedings that will be submitted to CEUR Workshop Proceedings for publication.

In order to support the participation of PhD students in this Doctoral Symposium, the PLN.NET network (RED2018-102418-T) will offer several grants to support the travel, accommodation and registration of the participants. Depending on the number of doctoral students attending, expenses will be partially or fully covered. This will be determined after the deadline for papers submission. We will try to pay for registration, travel (not exceeding 200 euros and always under justification of bus, train, plane tickets or, in case of travel by car, fuel ticket, and will be paid at 0.19 € per km calculated from the city of origin to A Coruña), one night's accommodation and meal allowance (in case the conference registration does not include meals).  

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

• Papers must be signed by a single person (predoctoral candidate) and must conform to the CEUR format. For this purpose, the CEUR template in LaTeX or Word format or the template provided through Overleaf (1 column format) should be used.
• Papers should be between 5 and 9 pages in length (including references) and should be written in English.
• The conference name should be replaced by: \conference{Doctoral Symposium on Natural Language Processing from the PLN.net network 2022 (RED2018-102418-T), 21-23 September 2022, A Coruña, Spain.}
• The author's name will be formed by the full name (without initials), e.g. "María Pérez" instead of "M. Pérez".
• The title should be written using the emphasizing capitalized style, e.g. "Filling an Author Agreement by Autocompletion" instead of "Filling an author agreement by autocompletion".
• Authors must complete and sign by hand this agreement, which will be sent with the paper through the following Google Form.
