|Usability and accessibility are widely ignored in web development. The model for software quality in ISO 9126 is currently being revised to distinguish between software usability, system usability and data usability. The presentation will suggest how this model can be used to help better specify web requirements and to evaluate web usability and accessibility. |
|Keynote Speaker Biography|
|Nigel Bevan is an independent consultant with wide industrial and research experience. He has managed a series of European projects that have incorporated user centred design into the development processes of several large organisations, and the UsabilityNet project that established a web site of usability resources. He has contributed to many international standards. He edited ISO 9241-11 (Guidance on Usability), and is editor of the revision of ISO/IEC 9126-1 (Software Quality Model). Nigel leads the UPA Usability Body of Knowledge project, and was a member of the US National Academy of Science Committee on Human-System Design Support for Changing Technology.
